Christmas Eve, Part 2

On the actual Christmas Eve day, we were smart to run a few errands and actually go to the mall. I don't know what we were thinking but it was fun to get out with our little family. Akoy got to see Santa and ask him for "Car shoes" (see story later). They wouldn't let us take a picture, and we were to cheap to spend the money on one of theirs. I also purchased my first pair of skinny jeans on this shopping trip. I don't know how I feel about them but they do work a lot better with boots.

We hurried back to Alpine for the annual 7th ward Christmas Eve at Watkin's barn. Scriptures were read, Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus were present and some music was shared. The traditional bag of Orange and peanuts were given. This was all people could give on Christmas way back when Alpine first started. It was fun to see all the people I grew up with, and we couldn't leave with out a quick picture.

Afterwards we headed over the the Gregory's for their annual Christmas Talent Show. This year each of Bryson's dad's siblings shared stories about the family instead of talents. It's always good to hear Grand-dad talk to the family. Afterwards Bryson's immediate family went downstairs to open up Christmas jammies and switch name gifts. The minute Akoy opened his Toy Story pj's his clothes came off. But not before we got a picture of him accidently holding an Abercrombie bag in front of him perfectly. It couldn't have been better. The kids got some fun presents from their cousins and we got a Wii Monopoly game from Bryson's little brother.

Before we went to bed and after the busy day, a phone call was made to Santa. Bryson's family used to always do this, but it was only recently that Bryson just learned that Santa was Grand-dad. As soon as Akoy got wind that Santa was on the phone, he tackeled Bryson and told santa he wanted car shoes. Grace and Akoy loved talking to Santa.

Car Shoes story. One of our many trips to Fashion Place mall we were given some money to get stuff for the kids from their grandparents. Bryson found a hideous pair of light up car shoes at Nordstoms. I am not a big fan of character shoes, but I knew Akoy would absolutely love them. SO we had grandpa cover his eyes while we tried them on. Grandma mentioned something about McQueen during the process. Afterwards Akoy just cried for his "car shoes." Every time someone asked him about santa, he said car shoes.

After a long day and a plate of cookies we headed to bed and waited for Santa to come visit!
