Before the game we got together with another family and had lunch to celebrate their son's birthday. It was fun to see all the husker fans at Olive Garden before the game. After lunch we dropped Akoy off, and headed to the 'bus stop.' We figured it would be easier to take a game day bus to the stadium instead of trying to find parking and fighting traffic.
We got to the game a little before and walked around. Some people had some crazy tailgate parties going on. Apparently they pay over 2 grand a season for a parking spot in front of the stadium. Crazy! The game was good. Nebraska killed the other team. We were in the student section, so standing up the whole time was a priority. Being almost 39 weeks pregnant, I sat down a lot to rest. We thought the student section would be crazy, but apparently they do not allow alcohol inside the stadium. People could drink before, but not during. It wasn't too bad :) We also were with all the other graduate students, which helped. After the team makes their first touchdown, people releases balloons into the air. There were so many! It was crazy! The BYU game started towards the end of the UNL game. So Bryson listened to the BYU while watching Nebraska play. I tried to, but kept getting lost. We are glad both of our teams came out with wins for the day!
I am glad we finally got to experience a "Nebraska" football game. It wasn't to much different than going to a BYU game, but it was a fun experience. I can check that off my list of things to do in Nebraska!
