I met up with one of my good friends, Megan, for lunch at Chick-Fila. Akoy wanted to go and play. He would come back and eat and play again. Towards the end, a kid around 8 carried Akoy out to me. He was bawling historically. He whines a lot, so i wasn't too worried. We tried to calm him down with the usual bribes; candy, phone, apps, ect. Nothing worked. That was clue 1. He wouldn't walk on his leg.
I waited the day out and finished some errands. We met my family and my sisiter's pool and said hi to some of the family and met my new nephew. Akoy just sat the entire time on the chair. Clue 2. He never stays put. We met Bryson's family at Texas Roadhouse for Bryson's Birthday dinner. Kelley stopped and picked up some ice and we wrapped it. By now, one knee was more swollen than the other. After dinner we decided to take him to the ER.

Some days he kept the splint on and others he would take it off. He would walk a little but always with a limp. A week later he still wasn't normal. I called my doctor in Lincoln and they took him in. The PA was trying to figure out where it was hurt and was touching all over Akoy's leg. He didn't even move. Yet other times he screams when we bump it. She has us go to the hospital for my xrays. The radiologist (who never saw Akoy) said there was unusual markings in a couple of spots. I guess toddler bones are soft and sometimes things are not as clear. So they casted his leg and called it a fracture.
| Getting his hard cast |
It took him about a week to walk with his new cast. Things were hard for awhile. He needed to be carried everywhere. My back was super sore from trying to carry two kids. The last few days have been so much better. Akoy walks where ever he needs to. We go back next week to get the cast off and new x-rays. I think everything should be better afterwards. But I still think we might put him back in the soft cast when we leave to Disneyland the next day. He shouldn't be walking on it all day, right? (meaning maybe we can get a pass for him to bypass some of the lines :) )
